**188Re-6D2** is a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical composed of the monoclonal antibody 6D2 (IgM) conjugated to the radioisotope rhenium-188 (^188^Re). It specifically targets **melanin** exposed in metastatic melanoma tumors. By binding to extracellular melanin released from necrotic melanoma cells, 188Re-6D2 delivers cytotoxic beta radiation directly to melanoma metastases, aiming to induce tumor regression. It has demonstrated safety, tumor localization, and antitumor activity in Phase Ia/Ib clinical studies for patients with advanced or treatment-refractory metastatic melanoma. The antibody component 6D2 was developed at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and ^188^Re is a high-energy beta emitter used for radiotherapeutic applications.
