18F-0502B is a novel radiopharmaceutical and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging tracer designed to selectively target and bind to **alpha-synuclein (α-syn)** aggregates in the brain. The accumulation of pathological alpha-synuclein is a key biological marker for a group of neurodegenerative disorders known as synucleinopathies, which include Parkinson's disease (PD), Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), and Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB). By utilizing the fluorine-18 isotope for radioactive signaling, 18F-0502B allows clinicians and researchers to non-invasively visualize and quantify the density and distribution of α-syn deposits. This capability is intended to facilitate early diagnosis, monitor disease progression, and assist in the differential diagnosis of movement disorders and dementias related to synuclein pathology.
