18F-1799 is a novel sympathetic nerve imaging tracer used in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) for cardiac sympathetic imaging. It is currently being investigated for its role in the prognostic evaluation of patients with heart failure and for understanding its relationship with arrhythmia in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
