Drug intelligence / Profile preview
18F-AGX is a novel radiopharmaceutical PET tracer developed by Huashan Hospital for the imaging of diffuse gliomas, particularly those harboring isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutations. The tracer is designed to assess metabolic changes associated with IDH-mutant tumors, which are characterized by the production of the oncometabolite 2-hydroxyglutarate (2-HG). In clinical trial settings, 18F-AGX PET imaging is being evaluated as a non-invasive tool for early treatment response assessment in adult patients with recurrent or residual WHO grade 2-3 IDH-mutant diffuse gliomas who are receiving therapy with Vorasidenib, a dual inhibitor of mutant IDH1 and IDH2 enzymes.
