Overview

18F-ASIS is a positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracer designed to image the expression of Tissue Factor (TF) in various cancers, including breast, lung, pancreatic, cervical, and ovarian cancers. Developed by Rigshospitalet in Denmark, the tracer utilizes a fluorine-18 labeled version of active site-inhibited factor VIIa (ASIS), which binds with high affinity and specificity to TF. Tissue Factor is often overexpressed in aggressive tumors and is associated with poor prognosis and tumor progression. 18F-ASIS serves as a diagnostic tool to evaluate tumor aggression and as a potential companion diagnostic to identify patients eligible for TF-targeted therapies, such as tisotumab vedotin.
