Drug intelligence / Profile preview
18F-C27 is a fluorine-18 (18F) radiolabeled small-molecule fibroblast activation protein (FAP) inhibitor developed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. It consists of the small-molecule FAP inhibitor C27 conjugated to a NOTA chelator and radiolabeled with fluorine-18. FAP is highly and selectively expressed in the stroma of various epithelial cancers, particularly on cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), while showing minimal expression in normal tissues. 18F-C27 PET/CT imaging is being evaluated as a diagnostic tool for the detection, staging, and monitoring of solid tumors, such as lung cancer, demonstrating high accuracy and specificity in identifying primary lesions and metastases compared to 18F-FDG.
