Overview

18F-DASA-10 is a fluorine-18 labeled small molecule radiopharmaceutical used as a positron emission tomography (PET) tracer for the molecular imaging of pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2). PKM2 is an enzyme isoform predominantly expressed in proliferating cells and is a key regulator of the Warburg effect in cancer cells. 18F-DASA-10 was developed as an improved version of the earlier tracer 18F-DASA-23, offering higher affinity (AC50 of 65 nM), enhanced cellular uptake, and better retention. It is specifically designed to image brain malignancies like gliomas, benefiting from low background uptake in healthy brain tissue and high tumor-to-background contrast.
