18F-FD4 is a radiopharmaceutical tracer labeled with Fluorine-18 (18F) developed for use in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging. Its primary application is to detect and visualize alpha-synuclein aggregates in the brain, a key pathological hallmark of neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson's disease and multiple system atrophy. The tracer is administered via injection and is currently being investigated in clinical studies by institutions including Huashan Hospital, Fudan University, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
