Drug intelligence / Profile preview
18F-HTK03162 is an 18F-labeled, bisAmBF3-conjugated small molecule radiotracer targeting prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA). It incorporates a novel lysine-urea-2-aminoadipic acid (Lys-urea-Aad) pharmacophore, which replaces the traditional lysine-urea-glutamic acid (Lys-urea-Glu) pharmacophore found in other PSMA-targeting agents like 18F-DCFPyL. This structural modification significantly reduces off-target uptake in normal organs, particularly the kidneys and salivary glands, while maintaining high tumor uptake. Developed by researchers at BC Cancer and the University of British Columbia, and licensed to Alpha-9 Oncology, 18F-HTK03162 is being evaluated for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of prostate cancer and potentially primary clear cell renal cell carcinoma.
