Drug intelligence / Profile preview
18F-PGM028299 is a fluorine-18 labeled small molecule radiotracer designed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of D-amino-acid oxidase (DAAO) in the brain. Developed by Takeda and Perceptive Discovery (formerly Imanova), the tracer is used to evaluate DAAO distribution and measure enzyme occupancy by therapeutic DAAO inhibitors, such as luvadaxistat, in the central nervous system. Preclinical studies in rodents demonstrate rapid brain entry with high uptake in the cerebellum and brainstem, reversible pharmacokinetics, and dose-dependent displacement by DAAO inhibitors, supporting its potential clinical translation for quantitative DAAO imaging in neuropsychiatric disorders like schizophrenia.
