Drug intelligence / Profile preview
18F-SiTATE (also known as [18F]SiFAlin-TATE) is a novel fluorine-18 labeled somatostatin receptor (SSTR)-targeting peptide radiopharmaceutical developed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. It consists of a silicon-fluoride acceptor (SiFA) moiety conjugated to [Tyr3]-octreotate (TATE) via a hydrophilic linker. 18F-SiTATE exhibits high selectivity and affinity for somatostatin receptor subtype 2 (SSTR2), which is overexpressed in various neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs), meningiomas, thyroid carcinomas, and pheochromocytomas/paragangliomas. Labeled with fluorine-18, 18F-SiTATE offers significant logistical and imaging advantages over traditional gallium-68-labeled somatostatin analogs, including a longer physical half-life (approximately 110 minutes) that allows for cyclotron-based batch production and distribution, as well as superior spatial resolution and high tumor-to-background contrast.
