Overview

RSPP050 (19-O-triphenylmethylandrographolide) is a semi-synthetic diterpenoid lactone analogue of andrographolide, a natural compound derived from *Andrographis paniculata*. It is being investigated for its anticancer properties, particularly in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. Research has focused on enhancing its delivery and imaging capabilities using galactose-targeted micelles that encapsulate both RSPP050 and superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) nanoparticles. This theranostic approach aims to improve tumor targeting via the asialoglycoprotein receptor on HepG2 cells while enabling T2*-weighted MRI monitoring of drug uptake and therapeutic efficacy.
