1G10 is an anti-CD86 immunotoxin composed of an anti-CD86 monoclonal antibody (IgG2a) conjugated or fused to Bouganin, a type-I ribosome-inactivating protein (RIP) derived from the leaves of *Bougainvillea spectabilis*. This biologic agent is designed to selectively target and eliminate cells expressing CD86 (B7-2), a cell surface protein often found on certain tumor cells, including those in Hodgkin's disease. Upon binding to CD86, the immunotoxin is internalized via receptor-mediated endocytosis. Once inside the cell, the Bouganin moiety enzymatically depurinates the 28S ribosomal RNA, leading to the irreversible inhibition of protein synthesis and ultimately inducing cell death. 1G10 is primarily utilized as a research compound for investigating targeted therapies against CD86-expressing malignancies.
