Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**1PC111** is an investigational oral fixed-dose combination developed by **Orient Pharma** containing pitavastatin 2 mg and ezetimibe 10 mg for primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. Pitavastatin competitively inhibits 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase, reducing hepatic cholesterol synthesis, while ezetimibe inhibits Niemann-Pick C1-like 1-mediated intestinal cholesterol absorption. In a randomized, double-blind Phase 3 study, the combination produced greater low-density lipoprotein cholesterol reduction than either component alone over 12 weeks.
