1ST-103 (also known as NLY02) is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 2 (RIPK2) being co-developed by First Biotherapeutics and D&D Pharmatech. RIPK2 is a key signaling protein involved in the innate immune response and is a recognized driver of neuroinflammation. By targeting RIPK2, 1ST-103 aims to mitigate the inflammatory processes that contribute to the progression of neurodegenerative disorders. Preclinical studies in Parkinson's disease models have demonstrated its ability to reduce neuroinflammation and provide neuroprotection to dopaminergic neurons, suggesting potential as a disease-modifying therapy for Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases.
