Drug intelligence / Profile preview
2″-O-rhamnosylswertisin is a C-glycosylflavone isolated from the leaves of Aleurites moluccana (kukui). It has been investigated for its anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive properties, particularly in the context of rheumatoid arthritis. In preclinical models using complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA)-induced arthritis, the compound demonstrated the ability to reduce mechanical hypersensitivity and paw edema. Furthermore, it showed disease-modifying potential by repairing joint damage, including the reduction of fibrosis, cartilage degradation, and bone erosion. It is considered one of the primary active components responsible for the therapeutic effects of A. moluccana extracts in traditional medicine.
