Overview

*2-Phenylamino-4-Methyl-5-Acetyl Thiazole* is a small molecule organic compound belonging to the class of 2,4,5-trisubstituted thiazoles. It features a thiazole ring substituted with a phenylamino group and an acetyl moiety. This unique chemical structure contributes to its biological activities primarily in antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer domains. The compound has demonstrated inhibitory effects on bacterial enzymes such as 3-Oxoacyl-[acyl-carrier-protein] synthase I in *Escherichia coli*, disrupting fatty acid synthesis and bacterial growth. Additionally, it modulates cell signaling pathways affecting gene expression and cellular metabolism including processes like cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. It also inhibits cytochrome P450 enzymes CYP450 1A2 and CYP450 2C19 which are important for drug metabolism; this suggests potential drug-drug interaction considerations. Despite these promising bioactivities observed in preclinical studies, there is no current approval or advanced clinical trial data available for therapeutic use.*
