Overview

20-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV-20) is a multivalent conjugate vaccine developed by Suzhou Juwei Biotechnology for the prevention of invasive pneumococcal disease and pneumonia caused by *Streptococcus pneumoniae*. The vaccine contains capsular polysaccharides from 20 distinct serotypes of the bacterium, each covalently linked to a carrier protein to enhance immunogenicity, particularly in infants and the elderly, by inducing a T-cell dependent immune response. As of 2024, the candidate is in Phase 1 clinical trials in China.
