2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine

The 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine is a monovalent vaccine developed specifically to combat the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic. The vaccine contains antigens derived from the A/California/7/2009 (H1N1)pdm09 strain, typically standardized to 15 μg of hemagglutinin per dose for inactivated versions. Its primary mechanism of action involves inducing the production of neutralizing antibodies against the viral hemagglutinin protein, which prevents the virus from attaching to and infecting host cells.
