Drug intelligence / Profile preview
20% PEP is a 20% concentration formulation of Purified Exosome Product (PEP), an investigational cell-free regenerative biologic developed by Rion in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic. Formulated as a shelf-stable lyophilized powder derived from human platelets, PEP contains stabilized regenerative exosomes that deliver polyvalent biological signals to recipient cells. It is designed to promote cell proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis while reducing inflammation and protecting cells. The 20% concentration formulation has been evaluated in a Phase 1b clinical trial for the treatment of split-thickness skin graft donor site wounds, and the broader PEP platform is under investigation for various indications including diabetic foot ulcers, knee osteoarthritis, musculoskeletal injuries, and pulmonary diseases.
