**213Bi-A2** is an experimental bismuth-213-labelled alpha-immunoconjugate comprising the alpha-particle-emitting radionuclide bismuth-213 linked through a chelator to A2, a nonspecific mouse anti-human immunoglobulin G1 monoclonal antibody. It was used as a hot, nonspecific control in preclinical targeted-alpha-therapy experiments, including studies of pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer, and uveal melanoma, rather than as the intended tumor-targeted therapeutic. Its cytotoxic effect results principally from short-range, high-linear-energy-transfer alpha radiation that causes lethal cellular DNA damage; A2 does not provide a tumor-selective cancer target in these studies.
