Overview

2217LS is a human monoclonal antibody engineered for extended half-life (via M428L and N434S mutations in the Fc domain) and designed to provide pre-exposure prophylaxis against Lyme disease, which is caused by Borrelia burgdorferi transmitted by ticks. The antibody targets *Borrelia burgdorferi* and has demonstrated efficacy in preventing transmission of the pathogen in animal models, including mice and non-human primates. It is administered subcutaneously, with early clinical studies focused on safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers. 2217LS was developed as an investigational agent to offer seasonal protection from Lyme disease for individuals at risk[1][2][3][4][5].
