2228zT2 is an experimental chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by Wellington Zhaotai for the treatment of B-cell malignancies, specifically B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) and B-cell lymphoma. The therapy involves engineering T cells to express a CAR that targets CD22, a surface antigen prevalent on B-lineage cells. The 2228zT2 construct utilizes a CD28 co-stimulatory domain and a CD3-zeta signaling domain, a combination designed to optimize T-cell activation and effector function upon binding to CD22-expressing tumor cells. Currently in the preclinical stage, 2228zT2 represents a targeted immunotherapy approach for patients with refractory or relapsed B-cell cancers.
