Overview

225Ac-EBTATE is a targeted radiopharmaceutical developed by Molecular Targeting Technologies, Inc. (MTTI) for the treatment of somatostatin receptor 2 (SSTR2)-positive neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). The drug consists of the alpha-emitting radioisotope actinium-225 conjugated to a somatostatin analogue (TATE) via an Evans Blue (EB) moiety. This EB technology platform allows the drug to bind reversibly to endogenous serum albumin, significantly extending its circulatory half-life and increasing tumor residence time. Preclinical studies have shown that 225Ac-EBTATE achieves significantly higher tumor uptake and anti-tumor efficacy compared to standard 225Ac-DOTATATE, potentially allowing for effective treatment at lower doses. The drug is scheduled to enter Phase 1/2 clinical trials in 2025.
