Overview

225Ac-OncoACP3 is a small molecule radiopharmaceutical therapy under development for metastatic prostate cancer. It consists of a small organic ligand with ultra-high affinity for Acid Phosphatase 3 (ACP3), a phosphatase highly expressed in prostate cancer cells but largely absent from normal tissues except the healthy prostate. The ligand is labeled with the alpha-emitting radioisotope Actinium-225, enabling targeted delivery of potent radiation to ACP3-expressing tumor cells while sparing most normal tissues. This approach leverages ACP3’s superior tumor selectivity compared to PSMA, another common prostate cancer marker. The drug is being developed by Philochem and its parent company Philogen, and is currently in clinical development for metastatic prostate cancer[1][4][8].
