225Ac-PSMA-313 is an investigational radiopharmaceutical designed for targeted alpha therapy in prostate cancer. It consists of a ligand that binds specifically to the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), which is highly expressed on prostate cancer cells, conjugated with the alpha-emitting radioisotope actinium-225 (225Ac). Upon binding to PSMA-expressing tumor cells, the drug delivers potent alpha radiation directly to malignant tissue, aiming to induce double-stranded DNA breaks and cell death while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. The primary indication under investigation is metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC)[4]. The drug is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for safety and efficacy.
