Drug intelligence / Profile preview
25-dihydroxyvitamin D₃ is a non-standard chemical name. The chemically correct forms are 25-hydroxyvitamin D₃ (calcifediol), which is a precursor to the active form of vitamin D, and 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D₃ (calcitriol), the active hormonal form. In the context of pregnancy-induced hypertension and preeclampsia, lower levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D have been associated with these conditions.
