Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PF-07910630 is an investigational 25-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (25vPnC) developed by Pfizer for the prevention of invasive pneumococcal disease and pneumonia caused by *Streptococcus pneumoniae*. As a fourth-generation conjugate vaccine, it expands upon the 20 serotypes included in Prevnar 20 (1, 3, 4, 5, 6A, 6B, 7F, 8, 9V, 10A, 11A, 12F, 14, 15B, 18C, 19A, 19F, 22F, 23F, and 33F) by incorporating five additional serotypes to provide broader protection against circulating strains. The vaccine utilizes Pfizer's proprietary conjugation technology, where capsular polysaccharides from each serotype are individually linked to the CRM197 carrier protein. This conjugation converts the polysaccharides into T-cell dependent antigens, enhancing the immune response and inducing long-term immunological memory. PF-07910630 is currently in Phase 2 clinical development, with trials evaluating its safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults compared to the current standard-of-care 20vPnC.
