3-glycosyl-3-odemethylthiocolchicine refers to a class of novel compounds that are derivatives of colchicine, specifically 3-demethylthiocolchicine with a glycosyl group attached at the 3-O position. These compounds can contain various natural and unnatural sugar moieties. Thiocolchicoside is a prodrug that metabolizes into 3-demethylthiocolchicine, which is then glucuronidated to form an active metabolite.
