Overview

311mab-32D4 is a human monoclonal antibody directed against the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) glycoprotein, originally isolated from memory B cells of convalescent COVID-19 patients using single B-cell cloning approaches. It binds the RBD with high affinity and potently blocks the interaction between viral RBD and the human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor, thereby inhibiting viral entry into host cells and neutralizing SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus infection at low microgram-per-milliliter IC50 values. The antibody has been characterized in vitro as a neutralizing entry inhibitor and considered as a potential therapeutic candidate for COVID-19, but has not advanced into formal clinical trials and remains at a preclinical research stage.[2][4][5][8]
