Drug intelligence / Profile preview
3beta-hydroxy-cycloart-24-ene-26-oic acid, commonly known as mangiferolic acid, is a cycloartane-type triterpenoid isolated from various species of the genus *Mangifera*, including the wild mango *Mangifera pajang*. This phytochemical has demonstrated various biological activities in preclinical studies, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and cytotoxic effects against several cancer cell lines such as MCF-7 (breast cancer) and HT-29 (colon cancer). While it is a significant component of the secondary metabolism of mangoes and is studied for its potential health-promoting properties, it is not currently developed as a regulated pharmaceutical drug and remains primarily a subject of nutritional and natural product research.
