3D-DCob is an autologous cell therapy candidate being developed by Medinet Medical Institute in collaboration with Celaxia for the treatment of dental and oral bone defects, including severe periodontitis. The therapy utilizes a direct conversion (reprogramming) technology to transform fibroblasts directly into osteoblasts, bypassing the pluripotent stem cell stage. These converted cells are then cultured to form a three-dimensional, scaffold-free bone-like tissue construct. This construct is intended for implantation to promote functional bone regeneration at the site of the defect. 3D-DCob is currently in the preclinical stage of development, with the goal of initiating clinical research.
