Overview

3D1001 is a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor small molecule being developed by 3D Medicines, in partnership with Haihe Biopharma Group, for the treatment of postoperative dental pain and cancer-related pain. By selectively targeting the COX-2 enzyme, the drug inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins that mediate pain, fever, and inflammatory responses. This selectivity is intended to provide effective analgesia while potentially minimizing the gastrointestinal side effects typically associated with non-selective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which also inhibit the COX-1 enzyme. 3D1001 is currently in Phase II clinical development.
