Overview

3D1025 is an alpha radionuclide conjugate (RDC) developed by 3D Medicines for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). The drug consists of a targeting ligand specific for the Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) conjugated to an alpha-emitting radionuclide. PSMA is highly overexpressed in prostate cancer cells, particularly in advanced and metastatic stages. Upon binding to PSMA, the conjugate is internalized, and the alpha particles deliver high-energy, short-range radiation that causes lethal double-strand DNA breaks in the tumor cells. This targeted approach is designed to maximize therapeutic efficacy while minimizing off-target toxicity to healthy tissues, potentially offering a more potent alternative to beta-emitting radionuclide therapies.
