Drug intelligence / Profile preview
3Mix-MP Antibiotic Paste is a locally applied antibacterial dental paste used in Lesion Sterilization and Tissue Repair (LSTR) therapy, a non-instrumentation endodontic approach for treating infected primary teeth. It consists of a triple antibiotic mixture ('3Mix') — metronidazole, ciprofloxacin, and minocycline — combined with a vehicle of macrogol (polyethylene glycol) and propylene glycol ('MP'), which facilitates diffusion of the antibiotics through dentinal tubules to disinfect infected root canal systems and periapical lesions. The paste is placed at root canal orifices or on the floor of the pulp chamber without radicular instrumentation, then sealed with restorative materials. It is used to treat pulp necrosis and irreversible pulpitis, primarily in primary (deciduous) teeth in pediatric patients.
