Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**3Mixtatin** is a locally prepared topical endodontic combination material used experimentally in pediatric dentistry for pulpotomy and lesion sterilization and tissue repair of carious or necrotic primary molars. In the formulation described in registered clinical studies, it combines the antibacterial agents ciprofloxacin, metronidazole, and cefixime with simvastatin. The antibiotics are intended to suppress polymicrobial pulpal and periradicular infection, while simvastatin is included for proposed anti-inflammatory, osteogenic, and hard-tissue-inductive effects. It is prepared as a powder and mixed with saline into a paste immediately before local application to the tooth.
