Overview

3nAGN-NSC is a nanosuspension formulation of a C12-substituted dithiocarbamate andrographolide analogue (3nAG) stabilized with the amphiphilic chitosan derivative naphthyl-grafted succinyl chitosan (NSC). Developed by researchers at Silpakorn University, Burapha University, Ramkhamhaeng University, and the University of Alberta, this formulation was designed to overcome the high hydrophobicity and poor water solubility of 3nAG, thereby enhancing its bioavailability and anticancer efficacy. 3nAGN-NSC exhibits selective cytotoxicity against breast cancer cells (such as MCF-7) by inducing apoptosis. In preclinical studies, 3nAGN-NSC has been evaluated in combination with Mcl-1-targeting siRNA (siMcl-1), demonstrating a synergistic apoptotic effect and significantly reduced cell viability in breast cancer models.
