Overview

This compound is a synthetic small molecule belonging to the n‑arylpiperazine class. It has been studied as an experimental inhibitor of the molecular chaperone Heat Shock Protein 90 (Hsp90). Hsp90 is involved in protein folding and stabilization of many client proteins critical for cancer cell survival and proliferation. Inhibition of Hsp90 can lead to degradation of oncogenic client proteins and has been explored as a targeted anticancer strategy. The compound has been structurally characterized in complex with human Hsp90[2][6]. There are no approved therapeutic indications or marketed products containing this molecule.
