Drug intelligence / Profile preview
4-MPTC is a small molecule modulator of calcium signaling that specifically targets the Stim2-dependent calcium entry pathway. Identified through small molecule screening, it induces a significant release of calcium from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and inhibits store-operated calcium entry (SOCE). Preclinical research indicates that 4-MPTC reduces the proliferation and migration of MDA-MB-468 triple-negative breast cancer cells, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic agent or sensitizer in oncology by disrupting calcium homeostasis in malignant cells.
