Drug intelligence / Profile preview
4MT-A is a novel, small molecule glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta (GSK3β) inhibitor developed by 4M Therapeutics Inc. for neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative conditions. Preclinical studies have shown that 4MT-A, along with 4MT-B, can attenuate amphetamine-induced positive appetitive ultrasonic vocalizations, a validated model of positive affective state, demonstrating comparable efficacy to lithium at significantly lower concentrations. The drug aims to target key pathways in the brain to address conditions like bipolar disorder and agitation in Alzheimer's disease.
