4P021 is a small molecule drug candidate developed as a CXCR4 antagonist for the treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and pulmonary complications, particularly those associated with viral respiratory infections such as COVID-19 and influenza. The drug works by inhibiting the recruitment and accumulation of immune cells, specifically neutrophils and lymphocytes, into the lungs.
