Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of five anticancer drugs: 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), bleomycin, cisplatin, methotrexate, and vinblastine. Each component has a different mechanism of action: 5-FU is an antimetabolite that interferes with DNA synthesis, bleomycin causes DNA strand breaks, cisplatin forms DNA crosslinks, methotrexate inhibits folate metabolism, and vinblastine disrupts microtubule formation during cell division. This multi-agent approach targets cancer cells through different pathways to potentially enhance efficacy.
