Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimen consisting of three chemotherapeutic agents (5-fluorouracil, cyclophosphamide, and methotrexate) and two immunotherapy agents (interferon alpha-2a and interleukin-2). The chemotherapy components work by different mechanisms: 5-fluorouracil stops cells from making and repairing DNA, cyclophosphamide stops cancer cells from reproducing, and methotrexate interferes with DNA synthesis. The immunotherapy components (interferon alpha-2a and interleukin-2) likely work by enhancing the immune response against cancer cells.
