5-fluorouracil + Dexeryl

5-fluorouracil + Dexeryl is a topical combination of two products: 5-fluorouracil, a chemotherapeutic antimetabolite that inhibits DNA synthesis by blocking thymidylate synthase, and Dexeryl, an emollient cream (containing glycerol, vaseline, and paraffin) used primarily for moisturizing and protecting the skin barrier. 5-fluorouracil is widely used for the treatment of actinic keratosis, superficial basal cell carcinoma, and other dermatologic malignancies, acting by inducing cytotoxic cell death in abnormal or malignant skin cells[1][3][4]. Dexeryl serves as a barrier-protecting, hydrating therapy for conditions like eczema and xerosis, but has no direct anti-neoplastic or cytotoxic effect; it is generally used to soothe skin irritation or dryness caused by other dermatologic treatments.
