Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination chemotherapy regimen used primarily for advanced breast cancer. The combination includes three anticancer agents: 5-fluorouracil (a pyrimidine analog), methotrexate (a folate antagonist), and prednimustine (an alkylating agent). This regimen has been studied in clinical trials for postmenopausal women with advanced breast cancer, showing effectiveness with modest toxicity compared to regimens containing more toxic agents like cyclophosphamide and doxorubicin. In some studies, tamoxifen was added to this combination.
