Overview

5B1-FL650 is a near-infrared fluorescent (NIRF) imaging probe consisting of the fully human monoclonal antibody 5B1 conjugated to the fluorescent dye IRDye650. The antibody 5B1 specifically targets Carbohydrate Antigen 19-9 (CA19.9), a biomarker highly expressed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Developed by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in collaboration with MabVax Therapeutics, 5B1-FL650 was designed for intraoperative imaging to assist in the identification of tumor margins and undetected metastases during surgical resection. In preclinical studies, it demonstrated high affinity for CA19.9-positive cells, although its counterpart 5B1-FL800 showed superior signal-to-background ratios for in vivo imaging.
