Drug intelligence / Profile preview
5B1-FL800 is a near-infrared fluorescent (NIRF) imaging agent consisting of the fully human monoclonal antibody 5B1 conjugated to the fluorescent dye IRDye800CW. The antibody 5B1 specifically targets Carbohydrate Antigen 19-9 (CA19.9), a biomarker highly expressed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and other gastrointestinal cancers. Developed by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in collaboration with MabVax Therapeutics, 5B1-FL800 is designed for intraoperative imaging to assist surgeons in identifying tumor margins, detecting occult metastases, and guiding the resection of pancreatic cancer. In preclinical studies, it has demonstrated high specificity and a high signal-to-background ratio, enabling the visualization of small tumor deposits invisible to the naked eye.
