5C2 is a murine monoclonal antibody (IgG1, κ) that specifically targets the canine CD22 (CD22c) antigen. Developed as part of a research effort to create preclinical models for human diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) using pet dogs, 5C2 binds to an epitope on CD22 shared with the 10C6 clone. It exhibits high affinity (Kd ≈ 0.3 nM) and strong internalization properties, even at low concentrations. Although it demonstrated specific targeting in vivo in mouse xenograft models of canine DLBCL, it was found unsuitable for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues. Consequently, while it served as a tool for characterizing canine CD22 targeting, it was not selected for clinical translation in favor of the 10C6 clone.
