Overview

**6,8-Diprenylgenistein** is a naturally occurring isoflavonoid structurally related to genistein but distinguished by the presence of two prenyl groups at positions 6 and 8. It has been isolated from several plants including Cudrania tricuspidata and Glycyrrhiza uralensis. This compound exhibits multiple biological activities such as antimicrobial effects against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and anti-obesity effects demonstrated in high-fat diet-induced obese mice. Mechanistically in cancer models it inhibits VEGF-A-induced lymphangiogenesis and lymph node metastasis by suppressing VEGF-A/VEGFR2 signaling pathways (including FAK/PI3K/AKT/p38/ERK) as well as hypoxia-inducible factor HIF1α expression[1][3][4][5]. Its primary research applications are in metabolic disease (obesity), infection control (antibacterial), and cancer metastasis prevention.
