Drug intelligence / Profile preview
6-grass pollen polymerized extract is a subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy (AIT) developed by Inmunotek for the treatment of grass pollen-induced allergic rhinitis, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, and asthma. The extract consists of pollen allergens from six grass species (*Phleum pratense*, *Dactylis glomerata*, *Lolium perenne*, *Poa pratensis*, *Holcus lanatus*, and *Festuca elatior*) that are chemically modified (polymerized) using glutaraldehyde and adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide. This polymerization process reduces the allergenicity (IgE-binding capacity) of the extracts, thereby improving safety and allowing for accelerated up-dosing schedules while maintaining immunogenicity to induce long-term immune tolerance.
